Directors of Overtime Sports Camp. A summer camp in Los Gatos
  • Director

Brooke is a teacher at Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos. There, she teaches 6th-grade English and Leadership. Sports have always been a large part of her life, she played softball and soccer all throughout high school and coached Varsity Softball at both Palo Alto High School and Los Gatos High School.

She attended the University of Colorado, earning her BA, and then went to grad school at Notre Dame de Na Mur. There, she earned her teaching credential and Masters in Education.

Brooke has 15 years of experience working at Decathlon Sports Camp. She was a junior counselor in high school, became a counselor while in college, and served as a Director for 8 years. Brooke worked closely with the staff and middle schoolers to ensure camp was an excellent experience for every camper.

Because of all her experience, she designed a camp to fit all kids’ needs. This new camp is a dream she has been working toward for many years, and it is finally becoming a reality in 2024.

  • Director

Jay is a math teacher at Nesbit School, where he teaches 7th-grade Math and Leadership. Before Nesbit, Jay taught middle school math in Oakland, where his passion for helping others came alive. His goal is to help kids see their full and greatest potential.

He is a graduate of the University of Michigan (Go Blue). He, too, attended Notre Dame de Namur for grad school. From being involved in leadership roles on sports teams and student government in high school to campus jobs and student organizations, Jay has always been a natural leader. He spent his high school career pursuing his love for soccer and coached the middle school teams at his previous school.

Jay also worked at Decathlon for 15 years, where he started as a junior counselor. While in his director role, Jay worked closely with the middle school groups and taught them the importance of responsibility. His positivity and energy brought so much joy to everyone at camp.

What People Are Saying

“Brooke Binkley was my daughter's favorite teacher at Fisher Middle School. She went above and beyond to help the students facilitate healthy friendships, opening her daily door at lunch. She truly cares about the well-being of our youth and is a positive, caring adult who takes the time to engage with our students and let them know they are valued. Her new sports camp is just what our town needs: a safe, inclusive, and super fun place for our young ones to learn and practice sports and make new friends. As a parent in Los Gatos, I only wish her camp had been here when my children were young. As a kindergarten teacher, I recommend her camp to all of my families looking for a quality summer program for their children. I am so thrilled the children in our community will have this wonderful opportunity available this summer!”

— Jennie Fink (Kindergarten Teacher at Van Meter Elementary School)

“You guys put on a GREAT camp! Thank you for letting him be a CIT and he can’t wait for next summer! Truly the best day camp around!!”

“My boys really loved their week at OT sports camp. They came home happy and tired every day. They said it was their favorite camp of the summer.”

“Last night, I was telling my son about the camp I have him scheduled for next week with one of his best friends and he kinda got quiet so I asked what was wrong. He replied, ‘I really LOVED Overtime. I wish I could do that all summer.’ Thank you for a great week!”

“Counselors were awesome - clearly very tuned in to the kids and just having a great time being active at summer camp! Very well staffed, good communications, and fun activities.”

“My son has done a number of different camps in the greater Los Gatos area over the last few summers. He returns home from each one happy and tired from the various activities of the day. He seems to make friends at each and enjoy all of his counselors. But he rarely offers much feedback or strong feelings about each camp. We signed him and a couple of friends up together this year, at Overtime, at the strong endorsement of a beloved teacher from our school. After his first day, he hopped in the car with more energy and excitement than I'd seen from any other camp. He told us stories from the day and couldn't wait to get back the next morning. He bonded with the staff and counselors immediately and loved the different sports they got to play each day. I, unfortunately, only signed him up for one week this summer and he told me on his last day that he wished I had signed him up for Overtime all summer. He "loved" it there! Finally...the feedback I had been looking for :) We'll see you next summer, Overtime! Thank you!”
